ABOUT LAPIS LAZULI

Lapis lazuli takes its name from the Latin word “lapis”, meaning stone, and the Persian word “lazhward”, which means blue.

This stone, with its deep, rich, celestial blue colour, was highly prized by the ancient Egyptians who made extensive use of it when creating jewellery, scarabs and burial ornaments.

Lapis is one of the oldest stones known to mankind. Over the years, it has been used by priests and healers to stimulate psychic abilities. It is also believed to impart wisdom and good judgment and to enhance intellectual ability.

In the world of energy healing, with its rich blue hue, this stone is used to balance the energies of the throat chakra.
